Specials, Sales and Holidays

Over the years we've run specials for this holiday, that holiday and sometimes for no apparent reason.
Most folks like the idea of a special, I know I do.  Of course there are those who like to bust balls for any reason and so it is apparently with my choice of holidays and specials.

Most of you didn't even notice that there was no special event for Memorial Day this year.  Most of you wont notice that there wont be one for Veterans Day either.
Now that I've brought it up, why not you might ask?

Well, as I explained to one guy who blasted me via email about my lack of patriotism, exhibited by the absence of a discount code - 365 days a year we offer a discount to the boys and girls who see fit to put their asses in the valley.  Be they Military or Law Enforcement any day they want something its discounted to them.

I asked him how many active duty folks are found shopping the Memorial Day sales at the local mall?  Usually these folks are humping through some God forsaken sh*thole far from the local Walley World.

After a couple emails back and forth (I cant leave well enough alone) I asked him to call me.  The first question I asked was "when did you get out?".  Yep you guessed it, he never went.

As I get older the stuff my Grandfather used to tell me rings a bit louder and clearer.  Like several of our Grandfathers, mine could tell stories of not only WWII, Korea and a few off the books playgrounds.  He detested and absolutely would have nothing to do with anyone who "made money off the backs of those who died".

Now I understand that a sale is a good thing.  And I figure, if as you check out at a reduced rate you remember that folks died to give you that opportunity to buy at that reduced rate then its all well and good.  But then again who does that.

So thats why TDS wont do sales on Memorial or Veterans Day.  Of course theres always Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, Tax Day, April Fools, Valentines Day, Groundhog Day, Hi-Cap Day, Just Because, and oh yeah Fathers Day............
