And it comes to pass......
Back around the 1st of the year the big 3 (Federal, Winchester and Remington) announced their bi-annual (sometimes tri-annual) price increase.
This was duly reported on almost every site known to man including mine. Not much has happened since then. Ammunition rolled in and honestly I haven't seen any change in pricing - until today.
AE40R3 - listed on the TDS site for $16.00 a box of 50 rolled in the door and is now listed at $21.00!
AE40R1 - same story.
AE45A - $25.00 a box of 50.
Yes indeed you can still find it listed for $16 to 18 a box but rest assured once that's burned through (if its even in stock) or the next shipment arrives - well lets just say it wont be a pleasant shopping experience.
I try to keep quite a bit of ammunition on the shelf and turn down more than I bring in, based solely on price - I aint buying it unless I can get it right and pass that along. So the way it works around here is the price doesn't change until the old load is gone. The new stuff with new pricing literally sits on the rack until the old is gone. Once its gone so is the old price.
